Laurel E. Zeiss is an Associate Professor of Musicology and Music History at Baylor University's School of Music. She holds a PhD and MA in Musicology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a BM in Voice from Greensboro College. Recognized for teaching excellence, she received the Outstanding Professor Award (2013) and was named a Baylor Fellow (2015). Her research focuses on opera studies, 18th-century music, and aesthetics, with publications in prestigious journals like The Cambridge Opera Journal and The Journal of Singing. She has also contributed to major edited collections, including Taste in the Eighteenth Century: Aesthetics and the Senses.
