Laura Thomas is a Core Faculty member in the Education Department at Antioch University New England. She has held leadership roles including Director of the Experienced Educators Program and Program Coordinator for Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and STEAM Education.

- BS in Education from the University of Missouri
Her research focuses on teacher pedagogy development, social justice in school restructuring, and student-centered practices, particularly in rural settings. She explores systemic resistance to change and innovative models like PBL and the Critical Skills Classroom.
Recent publications highlight trends in community-building, student well-being, and educational equity. Her work emphasizes practical strategies for teachers while addressing systemic barriers.
Professional activities include contributions to the George Lucas Educational Foundation’s Edutopia team and leadership in the ISTE Community. She has taught courses on Instructional Design, Assessment in PBL, and Facilitative Leadership.
