Laura Steil is a Professor and Department Chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Mars Hill University, where she has served since August 2011.
Her educational background:

- M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky at Lexington (2008)
- Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky at Lexington (2011)
Dr. Steil's research spans specialized mathematical domains including Number Theory, Cryptography, the interdisciplinary field of Mathematics and Music, Baseball Statistics, and Finite Mathematics. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes experiential learning through senior seminar projects where students explore real-world applications across these diverse areas.
