معرفی
Laura Roden is Professor of Chronobiology at Coventry University's Centre for Health and Life Sciences. Her research examines circadian regulation across biological systems, from plant immune responses to human sleep and mental health. With honorary positions at the University of Cape Town, she investigates how temporal biological processes affect health outcomes.
Education includes a doctorate in Plant Sciences from the University of Cambridge (1996). Her work bridges basic science and clinical applications, particularly regarding circadian influences on disease vulnerability.
Research explores circadian-immune interactions in plants and humans, sleep disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic, and chronotype effects on athletic performance. Recent studies analyze post-COVID cardiopulmonary recovery, sleep-mental health relationships in disadvantaged communities, and light spectrum optimization for agriculture.
Dr. Roden serves on editorial boards for Scientific Reports and Sleep Science and Practice. Her work has been recognized in cardiovascular physiology research and circadian biology applications.
