Laura Mullen holds the W.R. Kenan Jr. Chair of Humanities in Literature and Creative Writing at Wake Forest University. A National Endowment for the Arts and MacDowell Fellow, her interdisciplinary practice spans poetry, experimental prose, hybrid texts, video, sound, performance, and literary translation. Her research engages feminism, Gertrude Stein studies, contemporary French writing, and theoretical discourse.
Mullen's forthcoming book EtC (Solid Objects Press, 2023) continues her exploration of radical honesty and formal innovation. Her poetics investigates the entanglement of thought and feeling, challenging traditional mind/body distinctions while addressing social justice concerns. She has published eight collections that interrogate unstable meanings and reposition audiences as active participants in textual creation.
