Laura M. Scott serves as Senior Lecturing Fellow and Assistant Director for Reference, Clinics, and Outreach at Duke University School of Law, where she has been a core member of the Law Library faculty since August 2005. Her role bridges legal education and information science within the law school's academic ecosystem.

Scott's professional trajectory evolved from legal practice in litigation and bankruptcy at Choate Hall & Stewart to specialized law librarianship. Her research interests focus on practical legal research methodologies, with particular expertise in bankruptcy proceedings, litigation support systems, and business law research frameworks. She develops curriculum that translates complex legal information systems into actionable research skills for law students.
