Laura Londoño

Laura Londoño is a Research Assistant and Research Scholar at the Robot Learning Lab within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Freiburg, Germany. She works on algorithmic fairness, ethical AI, and human-robot interaction frameworks.

• Current M.A. in Ethics (University of Freiburg, 2023–present)
• B.A. in Philosophy and Literature (University of Caldas, 2012–2016)

Research Focus: Addressing algorithmic bias in robot learning systems, designing ethical frameworks for human-robot collaboration, and developing relearning mechanisms to minimize bias in social navigation. Her work intersects robotics, computational ethics, and human-centered design.

Recent Publications: Her 2024 IEEE paper explores fairness in robot learning, while her 2022–2025 work examines ethical interventions in collaborative robotics and bias mitigation strategies.

Projects: Involved in ReScaLe (Responsible and Scalable Learning for Robots) and Robots4SocialGood (bias reduction in socially-aware navigation).
