Laura Loehr, MD, PhD, MS, is a Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. She holds leadership roles within the school and specializes in cardiovascular epidemiology, particularly focusing on heart disease, stroke, and disparities in health outcomes. Her research leverages large-scale studies like the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study and the Hispanic Community Health Study.
Education: PhD in Epidemiology (UNC-CH, 2008), MS in Clinical Epidemiology (Wake Forest, 2002), MD in General Internal Medicine (Wake Forest, 1995).
Research interests include atrial fibrillation, heart failure, diabetes, women's cardiovascular health, and racial differences in cardiovascular disease. She teaches courses such as Design of Clinical Research Studies and Seminars in Clinical Research.
