Laura Krull is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at St. Norbert College, located in De Pere, Wisconsin. Her research focuses on how religious organizations in the U.S. both challenge and reproduce social inequalities related to sexuality, gender, and family structures. She employs ethnographic methods, experimental design, and qualitative analysis to study topics such as clergy responses to social issues and LGBTQ+ inclusion in religious institutions.
Her work includes analyzing sermons to understand how pastors address national events, as well as examining denominational conflicts over LGBTQ+ exclusion. She has also researched the intersections of religion, race, and class in shaping young women’s sexual health attitudes. Krull emphasizes mentoring undergraduate researchers and has explored challenges in remote education during the pandemic.
While no formal awards are listed, her publications consistently engage critical issues at the intersection of religion and social justice. Her teaching and advising focus on empowering students to develop research skills in sociological inquiry.
