Her research spans two major domains: Victorian literature and contemporary higher education. In literary studies, she explores humor, comic song, the history of the book, and gender, with a focus on figures like Dickens, Carroll, and Gilbert and Sullivan. Her 2023 monograph, The Idler’s Club, examines humor and literary sociability in British culture. In education, she investigates curriculum design, self-authorship, reflection, and inclusion in engineering and honors education.
Her recent publications reflect an interdisciplinary trajectory, blending literary analysis with pedagogical innovation. The articles show a consistent interest in how media—whether Victorian periodicals or modern classrooms—shape identity, inclusion, and understanding. She frequently collaborates on educational research, particularly around student success in STEM fields.
