Jonathan Farina is a Professor of English and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University. He specializes in 19th-century British literature, novel theory, and the history of criticism, with a focus on the intersection of literature and science.

His research explores the role of everyday language in shaping knowledge in Victorian prose, as detailed in his book *Everyday Words and the Character of Prose in Nineteenth-Century Britain* (Cambridge UP, 2017), which earned an Honorable Mention for the Sonya Rudikoff Prize. Current projects include *Aformalism*, examining alternative forms of Victorian literary criticism.
