Laura Harrison

Dr. Laura Harrison is an Associate Professor in Modern History at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. Her research focuses on youth culture, family history, and public history in modern Britain. She holds a PhD and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Roles include Programme Leader for History (2019-2021), Associate Head of School (2021-2023), and Associate Director of the Regional History Centre (2023-2024). She has taught at UWE since 2016, following a Fulbright Scholarship at Westminster College, Missouri.

Her research explores intersections of age, gender, class, and race, with publications including Dangerous Amusements (2022) and contributions to Rural History. She collaborates with community groups and heritage organizations, such as the NLHF-funded 'This is Your Bristol Life' project.

Awards: Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (2022), Senior Fellowship (HEA, 2022).
