Laura Gonzalez Diez

Laura Gonzalez Diez is a Professor at CEU San Pablo University, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences and the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. She serves as Principal Researcher of the ICOIDI (Research in Communication through Image and Design) group and leads the 'Communication and New Technologies' line in CEINDO International Doctoral School's Social Communication program. Previously, she directed the Department (2015-2019) and served as Academic Secretary (2007-2015).

She holds a PhD in Information Sciences from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Her research focuses on:

• Information Design: typography, imagery (photography, illustration, infographics), and color
• Digital Media: design, editing, and production of informative/advertising content
• Advertising Creativity and Graphic Design

She has published over thirty journal articles, six books, and forty book chapters while curating three design exhibitions.

Her awards include:

• First Prize for Teaching Innovation (USP-CEU, 2018)
• First Prize for Teaching Innovation (USP-CEU, 2021)

Professor Gonzalez Diez has directed over a dozen doctoral theses and maintains thirty years of consultancy experience in design and graphic communication. She actively participates in research projects related to information graphic design processes, presenting findings at over one hundred national and international conferences.

She leads the ICOIDI research group and serves on the Faculty Research Commission and USP-CEU Teaching Innovation Commission (2020-2022). Professional affiliations include the Spanish Society of Journalism (SEP), Spanish Association of Communication Research (AE-IC), and Madrid Designers Association (DI_MAD).
