Laura Gelhaus is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick, where she also serves as the Director of Personal Development for the Warwick PPE program. Her academic work bridges EU studies, political economy, and food policy, with a strong regional focus on the EU's Eastern neighbourhood.
Her research interests include EU external action, rural development, food and drink policy, geographical indications, and the political dynamics of the Eastern Partnership countries. She employs interdisciplinary methods to analyze how EU governance mechanisms extend beyond its borders, particularly in agricultural and rural policy domains.
Laura's recent publications reflect a consistent focus on the EU's influence in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and the Western Balkans, combining academic rigor with policy relevance. Her work spans peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and impactful policy reports for institutions like DGAP, the German Marshall Fund, and Polis180, demonstrating a strong trend toward bridging academic research and real-world policy formulation.
