Laura Curtis is a Lecturer in Music Education at Western University's Don Wright Faculty of Music and holds a parallel lecturer position at Brock University. She earned her PhD and MA in Music Education from Western University, an Honours Bachelor of Music from McMaster University, and a Diploma in Music Performance (voice) from Cambrian College.

Her research focuses on the social and emotional impacts of singing in marginalized communities, particularly exploring how involuntarily childless women find empowerment through choral participation. She also investigates lifelong musical learning across community and institutional settings.
Scientific awards include SSHRC funding for her doctoral work on the Childless Voice Choir in the UK. Curtis actively engages with Choral Canada and the Orangeville and District Music Festival through committee memberships.
