Laura Ashton-Goldthorpe is a Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield within the School of Human and Health Sciences, and a member of the Just Futures Centre. She brings over 14 years of experience in Further and Higher Education settings, teaching Access Programmes, Foundation Degrees, and Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree programmes alongside her professional background as a Children’s Services practitioner and Early Years Teacher (EYTS) specializing in children aged 0-8 years.

Key Contributions: Her ethnographic studies investigate the intersection of martial arts and child wellbeing, emphasizing physical activity’s role in mental health and identity development.
