Laura Alicino is a Research Fellow at the Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship for her project SHAPE (Sharing the Pronoun), which examines documentary poetry in Spanish American literature as a tool for cultural memory and resistance against extreme violence. She is also a Visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her PhD in Modern, Comparative and Postcolonial Literature at the University of Bologna.
- Research Focus: Contemporary Hispanic-American literature, intertextuality, genre mixing, documentary writing, precolonial/colonial Mexican literature, Nahuatl codices, Afro-Peruvian poetry, and cultural memory of violence.

- Recent Publications: 15 articles (2015–2025) on topics including Afro-descendant women's resistance in Peru, migrant identity in Cristina Rivera Garza's works, and intertextual strategies in Latin American documentary poetry.
