Dr hab. Larysa Leszczenko is a Professor and Head of the Department of Eastern Studies at the University of Wrocław, Poland. She has been affiliated with the institution since 2000. Her research focuses on international human rights protection, military conflicts in post-Soviet states, and human rights dynamics in armed conflicts. She holds a PhD from Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin (1999) and a habilitation degree (2012). Prior roles include a university lecturer at Maria Skłodowska-Curie University (1999–2000) and high school teaching in Ukraine (1993–1994).
Her scholarly work includes authored and edited volumes on post-Soviet geopolitics, Polish-Ukrainian relations, and human rights mechanisms. Notable publications include *Republika Białoruś – polityka zagraniczna i bezpieczeństwa* (2020), analyzing Belarusian foreign policy, and *Pogranicza cywilizacji* (2019), exploring identity conflicts in Eastern Europe. She has contributed to foundational texts like *Wybrane problemy ochrony praw człowieka w Polsce* (2016) and edited collections on cultural diplomacy and institutional development.
Leszczenko’s research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to post-Soviet studies and security dynamics. She has participated in the Polish School of International Humanitarian Law (2014) and authored works on Russian philosophical thought, further enriching her expertise in Eastern European studies. Her academic leadership includes organizing jubilee publications for the Wrocław Institute of International Studies, reflecting her commitment to institutional legacy and scholarly collaboration.
