Lars Tranvik serves as Professor of Limnology in the Department of Ecology and Genetics at Uppsala University, Sweden. He is an active LINXS Fellow contributing to the Environment and Climate theme through Working Group 3 focused on Nutrient cycles and land-water interactions.
His research centers on limnology—the study of inland aquatic systems—with strong emphasis on environmental science and climate change impacts. Key specializations include nutrient cycling dynamics and the complex interactions between terrestrial and aquatic environments. This work integrates field observations with advanced analytical approaches relevant to global environmental challenges.
As a LINXS Fellow, he participates in collaborative initiatives applying neutron and x-ray science to environmental research, particularly within the Environment and Climate theme structure. His position enables cross-institutional engagement with the LINXS community's focus on advanced imaging and data analysis for ecological systems.
