معرفی
Lars Olson is a Senior Professor in Neurobiology at Karolinska Institutet's Department of Neuroscience. His research explores neurobiology, Parkinson's disease mechanisms, mitochondrial genetics in aging, and neural repair after spinal cord injury. He co-leads Tobias Karlsson's research group and founded the Swedish Brain Foundation.
Research interests include:
- Mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegeneration
- Neural signaling pathways in Parkinson's
- Bioengineering for spinal cord injury recovery
Publications demonstrate expertise in genetic models and neurochemical analysis, with recent work on dopamine dynamics and neuroimmune interactions.
Awards include the Karolinska Institutet Grand Silver Medal (2020) for lifetime contributions to neuroscience education and research.
Advising includes PhD supervision in neurobiology labs. Grants support studies on neuroregeneration and mitochondrial biology. Future work targets neural interfaces for therapeutic applications.
Teams collaborate internationally on neural circuit mapping and neuroinflammation projects.
