Prof. Dr. Lars Gerhold holds the Chair for the Psychology of Sociotechnical Systems at the Technical University of Braunschweig since October 2022. Prior to this, he served as Professor of Interdisciplinary Security Research at Freie Universität Berlin.
- Research Focus: Examines the interplay between human behavior and technical systems in security contexts, emphasizing public safety, digital ethics, and risk assessment.
- Leadership Roles: Scientific Director of the Public Security Research Forum, Project Manager of the Future Lab for Security (adjacent to the German Bundestag), and member of advisory boards for public security and civil protection.
- Collaborations: Principal Investigator at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society and Associated Researcher at the Einstein Center Digital Future.
Methodological Expertise: Integrates psychology, education, and computer science to address sociotechnical challenges in security and public policy.
