Larry Lehman is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Mary Washington. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Eastern Mennonite College (1979) and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (1986). His research focuses on algebra and number theory, particularly in the areas of quadratic ideal numbers and binary quadratic forms. He has authored two notable books: Quadratic Number Theory: An Invitation to Algebraic Methods in the Higher Arithmetic (MAA Press) and Quadratic Ideal Numbers: A Computational Method for Binary Quadratic Forms (De Gruyter). Dr. Lehman is a member of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America, and he was the inaugural speaker in UMW's Life of a Mathematician colloquium series.
