Larry Gladney

Larry Gladney serves as FAS Dean of Science and Professor of Physics at Yale University, having joined in January 2019 as Professor of Physics and Phyllis A. Wallace Dean of Diversity and Faculty Development before assuming the FAS Dean of Science role in July 2022. Previously, he held the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Professorship for Faculty Excellence and served as Associate Dean for Natural Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, with a secondary appointment as Professor of Education.

His research investigates fundamental connections between matter, energy, space, and time through experimental particle physics and cosmology, with particular emphasis on understanding the accelerated expansion of the universe. This prolific work spans over 600 peer-reviewed publications, establishing him as a leading scholar in fundamental physics.

Dr. Gladney's administrative leadership demonstrates commitment to both scientific advancement and academic community development, having directed diversity initiatives and natural sciences programs across two major research institutions.
