Larissa Zierow

Professor Larissa Zierow is a Professor of Economics at ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, where she has been employed since September 2022. She serves as Programme Director of the BSc International Management Double Degree (IMX) program, German-French Link Liaison professor, Director of the Friedrich-List-Institute, and liaison professor for the German National Scholarship Foundation. Her academic career includes previous positions as Deputy Head of Division and Economist at the ifo Centre for the Economics of Education in Munich (2017-2022).

Professor Zierow's research focuses on Economics of education, Labour economics, Applied econometrics, and Inequality. Her current research projects examine interventions to improve study skills, first-generation university students, the impact of civic education on civic engagement, and how the timing of income payments affects household behavior. Her work often employs quasi-experimental methods to evaluate educational policies and their long-term effects.
