Lara Iaboli

Lara Iaboli is a PhD candidate at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology and the Department of Plant Systematics, Biodiversity and Evolution. Her research focuses on the influence of the Sunda-Sahul Biotic Exchange on the diversification of Aglaia (Meliaceae), particularly investigating fruit morphology and chemistry adaptations in response to biogeographical shifts. She collaborates with international researchers including Dr. Diego Morales-Briones (LMU), Dr. Julius Jeiter (TU Dresden), and Prof. Darren Crayn (Australian Tropical Herbarium), among others.

Her work combines phylogenetic studies with morphological and chemical analyses to explore how disperser communities drive plant adaptation. Supervised by Prof. Kadereit, her research bridges evolutionary biology and biogeography, contributing to broader understanding of biodiversity dynamics.
