Lara Dal Molin

Lara Dal Molin is a PhD Student and Tutor in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Her work focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, language, and gender, particularly examining gender bias in Large Language Models (LLMs) through hybrid qualitative-quantitative methods inspired by the Design Justice framework.

Research Interests: Lara’s research explores how LLMs perpetuate social inequalities and ideologies. Her work combines sociological theory, computational methods, and critical analysis of AI ethics, digital surveillance, and technological governance.

Academic Background: She studied Liberal Arts and Sciences (BSc) at the University of Surrey and earned a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from the University of St Andrews, where her thesis on cooperation in agent-based models was published in the GECCO conference proceedings.
