Landon Palmer is a film and media historian specializing in the intersections of motion pictures, media industries, and popular music. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Creative Media at the University of Alabama, he investigates historical power dynamics in media production and the evolution of transmedia stardom.

His research focuses on media-industry convergence, cinematic representations of difference, and the technological and cultural shifts shaping moving image media. Palmer teaches courses spanning film history, media theory, and television criticism, emphasizing humanistic analysis of cultural contexts in media consumption.
