Laina Rosebrock is a Research Clinical Psychologist affiliated with the University of Oxford's Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis research group. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical and research expertise focuses on developing evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) for mental health conditions such as psychosis, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, with a strong emphasis on leveraging virtual reality (VR) to enhance therapy accessibility and efficacy. She has collaborated with NHS Trusts and conducted randomized controlled trials evaluating VR interventions for conditions like persecutory delusions and agoraphobic avoidance.
Dr. Rosebrock’s work prioritizes automation of therapeutic processes to maximize reach. Her recent projects include the Phoenix VR Self-Confidence Therapy initiative, which uses VR to improve self-beliefs and well-being in young people with psychosis. She has also developed the Oxford Positive Self Scale, a standardized assessment tool for measuring psychological well-being-related cognitions.
Her academic contributions span clinical trial design, VR technology integration in mental health, and psychometric validation of assessment instruments. Her research bridges clinical practice and innovation, aiming to transform how mental health therapies are delivered globally.
