Lai Sze Tso is a Research Professor in Population Studies and Demography and Assistant Professor in Sociology and Anthropology at Gustavus Adolphus College, with faculty affiliations in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies and Scandinavian Studies.

- 2022 guest editor at Frontiers in Medicine and editorial board member at Asian Journal of Medical Humanities
Research Themes focus on health inequities, medical technologies, and social justice in low-resource settings, with international collaborations in China, Ghana, UK, Denmark, and Norway. She leads the Mobile Medical Materials Working Group and contributes to the University of Minnesota Population Scholars Program.
Scientific Contributions include peer-reviewed work on HIV interventions, digital health, and women's upward mobility in China. Her 10+ publications span journals like AIDS, Journal of International AIDS Society, and Sexually Transmitted Infections.
