Lai-Ha Chan

Lai-Ha Chan is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where she contributes to the Social and Political Sciences Programme. She serves as an Executive Editor for International Relations of the Asia-Pacific (Q1 journal) and co-convenes the Asia Pacific Research Group at UTS. Her academic journey includes a Fung Global Fellowship at Princeton University (2016–2017) and roles at the Australia-China Relations Institute.

Recent publications highlight trends in minilateral security frameworks like AUKUS and Quad, China's geopolitical narratives, and post-pandemic governance shifts. She emphasizes institutional design trade-offs (efficiency vs. exclusion) and identity politics in regional alliances.
