Lacy Lowrey is a Lecturer and current Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Internships in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Denver, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She earned her Master of Arts in Communication from San Diego State University in 2011. Her research focuses on how women comedians use humor as a rhetorical device to critique societal norms and drive change.
Her work primarily examines:
- Comedic rhetoric and irony
- Gender representation in media
- Humor as social critique
- Performance studies
- Media analysis
Lacy teaches foundational and advanced courses including:
