Laci Fiala

Dr. Laci Fiala serves as Associate Professor of Crime, Law, and Justice and Sociology at Hiram College, where she also directs the Eclectic Scholars Honors Program. Her teaching covers research methods, criminology, and social inequality, while her research examines youth studies, family dynamics, and school violence.

Her quantitative research utilizes survey methodology and content analysis to investigate parenting, youth financial behaviors, and educational approaches. Recent publications explore economic mobility influences on young adults and innovative teacher professional development models.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Fiala develops courses addressing victimology, substance use, and contemporary social issues while mentoring students in research methodologies.
