Labib Hossain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at Miami University (2024–present). His teaching includes courses like History of Architecture I/II and Design and Research Methods. Previously, he held roles as a Visiting Instructor at Pratt Institute (2022–2023), Course Instructor at Cornell University (2021, 2023), and Lecturer at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (2012–2015).
Education: Ph.D. in Architecture (Cornell University), M.S. in Architecture (University of Pennsylvania), and Master of Architecture (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology).
Research focuses on Architectural History, Postcolonial Theory, and Urban History. Notable projects include exploring colonial water management in Dhaka and postcolonial critiques of architectural practices. He organized symposiums like 'Decolonizing Heritage Exhibition: Architectural Heritage of South Asia' (2020) and 'Writing the History of Asia’s Built Environments' (2022).
Key awards include the Mario Einaudi Dissertation Research Grant (2021), Mellon Urbanism Fellowship (2018), and Sage Fellowship (2017–2021). His work bridges colonial legacies with contemporary urban challenges, emphasizing environmental and critical theory frameworks.
