LaShaunn L Bold

LaShaunn L Bold is an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington. She holds an MSSW (1994) and BS (1990) from UT Arlington and TCU, respectively. Her teaching focuses on human behavior, children & family services, and clinical practice, delivered both online and in-person. She has been a licensed social worker for 30 years, combining full-time academia with a private practice specializing in trauma-focused therapy and family dynamics.

Research interests include child maltreatment, domestic violence, and integrative therapeutic approaches like art therapy. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the BSW Teaching Excellence Award (2020, 2018) and the President’s Award for Distance Education (2016). Leadership roles include Chair of the School of Social Work’s Family & Children committee and involvement in Title IV-E coordination.
