LUIS ALBERTO OTERO GONZALEZ

Luis Alberto Otero González is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences and the Department of Financial Economy and Accounting. He is a member of the VALFINAP research group (Applied Financial Valuation) and the Interuniversity Research Center in Economics and Business for Society (ECOBAS). His research focuses on financial risk management, mutual fund performance, ESG integration, insurance regulation (Solvency II), banking derivatives, and hospitality sector dynamics.

He earned his doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2001 with a thesis titled *The Activity of Life Insurance Companies in the Framework of the Integral Management of Assets and Liabilities*, supervised by Dr. José Antonio Redondo López.

His research interests span interdisciplinary topics including enterprise risk management (ERM), crowdlending platforms, corporate governance, and tourism economics. His work frequently examines regulatory frameworks, emerging markets, and institutional investment strategies. Recent publications address topics like mutual fund rating systems, SME ESG practices, and default risk modeling in banking and invoice trading.
