She holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University (2018), and prior degrees from UC Berkeley. Before joining Stanford, she taught at California State University Fullerton and worked in NYC as a translator and writing consultant while completing her graduate studies and a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia.
Her research integrates critical translation theory, Asian studies, and ethnic studies. Key projects include analyzing Cold War-era English-Chinese literary translations to develop methods for studying multilingual diasporic literature, and exploring Asian/American science fiction. She has also written on transnational American literature and modern Chinese literature.
Her published work spans anesthesia and neurosurgical topics including cerebral vasospasm management, perfusion imaging, and regional anesthesia techniques. Recent articles address vasospasm index scoring, cervical sympathetic block efficacy, and ECMO-induced hemodynamic changes.
While no formal student advisees or awards are listed, her work bridges literary and scientific domains through interdisciplinary research and clinical studies.
