Kyle X. Hill

Kyle X. Hill, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota. An enrolled citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe with Dakota and Lakota heritage, he conducts community-based participatory research with American Indian and First Nations communities across the US and Canada. His work examines social, political, and ecological determinants of Indigenous health, emphasizing climate justice and Land-based healing frameworks. He holds advanced degrees in Clinical Psychology (PhD, MA, BS) from the University of North Dakota and Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University.

Research Focus: Dr. Hill’s expertise spans climate change impacts on health, Indigenous mental health, trauma-informed practices, health equity, and decolonizing methodologies. His research integrates environmental science, cultural resilience, and community-driven solutions to address systemic health disparities.
