Kyle M. Lascurettes is an Associate Professor of International Affairs at Lewis & Clark College, located in Portland, Oregon. He specializes in International Relations Theory, Global Order & Governance, International Organizations, and Security Studies. His research bridges theoretical frameworks and practical governance challenges in international systems.
Education: PhD and MA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia; BA in Government and English Literature from St. Lawrence University.
Research focuses on foundational rules of international systems, great power dynamics, and the evolution of global order. His award-winning book Orders of Exclusion: Great Powers and the Strategic Sources of Foundational Rules in International Relations (Oxford UP, 2020) explores how exclusion shapes international norms. Recent articles address the sustainability of the liberal international order and lessons from historical governance models.
Awards include the 2021 APSA Jervis-Schroeder Award and the Otto Hieronymi Book Prize. He advises the Model UN team and teaches courses like International Organization and Theories of International Relations.
