Kwadjo Appiagyei is a Lecturer at the Murdoch Business School, part of Murdoch University's College of Business. His research focuses on corporate governance, sustainability accounting, integrated reporting, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He holds a PhD in Management and Commerce from Edith Cowan University (2020), an MPhil in Accounting from the University of Ghana (2014), and a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Ghana (2011).
His research explores board dynamics, sustainability performance, and the interplay between corporate governance and ESG disclosures. He has investigated topics such as the role of gender diversity on audit committees, the impact of SDGs on firm value, and the challenges of international research collaboration in environmental studies. His work often bridges theoretical frameworks with practical implications for African and global businesses.
Dr. Appiagyei has been recognized with awards including the Outstanding E-Learning Educator Award (KNUST, 2024) and the School of Business and Law PhD Scholarship (ECU, 2016). His recent publications analyze trends in SDG adoption, corporate governance in fintech firms, and sustainability reporting practices in South Africa and Ghana.
His advising and grants include the ECU PhD scholarship and ongoing research on board expertise and student career intentions. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on sustainability, governance, and global development challenges.
