Kurt Wüthrich is the Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Professor of Structural Biology at The Scripps Research Institute since 2004. Previously, he served at ETH Zurich from 1969 to 2000, where he held roles including Privatdozent, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and finally Professor of Biophysics from 1980 onwards.
His research focuses on structural and functional genomics, protein and nucleic acid structures, and the development of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. He has contributed extensively to advancing NMR spectroscopy for determining biomolecular structures.

Wüthrich earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Basel (1962-1964) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Basel, University of California, Berkeley, and Bell Telephone Laboratories.
