Kurt Wüthrich

Kurt Wüthrich is a renowned Professor of Structural Biology at The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA), a Professor of Biophysics at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), and a Distinguished Senior Professor at ShanghaiTech University (China). He holds the Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Chair at Scripps and has joint appointments in the Department of Chemistry and the Skaggs Institute for Chemical Biology. His research focuses on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of biological macromolecules, particularly G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and aging-related healthcare. Wüthrich pioneered NMR-based protein structure determination and developed the TROSY method for large biomolecular assemblies.
