Dr. Kurt Richter is an Associate Professor (fixed term) in the Department of Community Sustainability at Michigan State University (MSU). He serves as Deputy Director of the Global Center for Food Systems Innovation (GCFSI) and Director/Principal Investigator for the Innovation Scholars Program and Grain Research and Innovation programs. With over 25 years in higher education and international development, he manages $100M+ in USAID-funded projects and leads strategic operations at GCFSI. His work spans 20+ countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, focusing on institutional capacity building and complex project implementation.
