Kuang Xu is an Associate Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a courtesy professor in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. His expertise spans Operations Research, AI strategy, data science, and supply chain innovation. He co-created the first AI Strategy course at Stanford, focusing on AI's strategic and entrepreneurial applications. Xu’s research addresses decision-making under uncertainty, leveraging tools from statistics, machine learning, and stochastic modeling. His work has been recognized with awards such as the INFORMS Nicholson Prize and ACM SIGMETRICS Rising Star Award.
Xu holds a PhD from MIT and a BS from the University of Illinois. He advises companies like Uber and Shipt on AI strategy and has published in top journals like Management Science and Operations Research. His research explores topics like privacy in genetic data, reinforcement learning algorithms, and causal inference in dynamic systems.
