Krzysztof Dybko

Krzysztof Dybko is a Professor at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Warsaw, Poland, where he leads research at the International Research Centre MagTop. His expertise centers on experimental condensed matter physics with specialization in low and high field magnetotransport measurements spanning milliKelvin to room temperature regimes.

His academic journey includes a PhD completed in 1996 and habilitation degree obtained in 2020. Professor Dybko's research has pioneered critical investigations in quantum phase transitions, notably determining scaling exponents for plateau-plateau transitions in Integer Quantum Hall systems using DC/AC techniques up to 60 GHz. He provided seminal experimental evidence for long-range spin triplet superconductivity in cuprate-manganite heterostructures and contributed to the foundational discovery of topological crystalline insulators published in Nature Materials. Recent work employs soft point contact spectroscopy to identify zero-energy modes in IV-VI topological materials, revealing BCS-type critical behavior explained through Peierls-like instabilities of 1D states.

His distinguished scientific contributions have been recognized with:

• PAS secretary for scientific affairs award (Warsaw, 1986 and 1988)
• Director of Institute of Physics PAN award for best publication (2013 and 2018)
