معرفی
Prof. Krystian Mikolajczyk is a Professor in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at Imperial College London's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on image/video recognition, feature extraction, and applications in surveillance, face recognition, and 3D reconstruction. He has led EU and UK-funded projects like FACER2VM and IPALM.
Education: BSc from AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland), PhD from INP Grenoble (France). Previously held roles at INRIA, University of Oxford, TU Darmstadt, and University of Surrey. Joined Imperial as a Reader in 2015.
Research interests include invariant feature extraction, visual signal representation, and domain adaptation. He has organized major conferences like the British Machine Vision Conference (2012, 2017) and served on editorial boards of journals like International Journal of Computer Vision.
Key grants include EPSRC projects on interactive perception (2019–2022), face matching (2016–2020), and semantic video search (2006–2009). Collaborations span academic institutions (e.g., Aalto University, University of Sheffield) and industries (BBC, BAE Systems, Zoological Society of London).
Recipient of the 2014 Longuet-Higgins Prize for contributions to pattern analysis and machine intelligence. Supervises a large team including PhD students (e.g., Tony Ng on camera localization, Michal Nazarczuk on robotics reasoning) and visiting researchers. Leads the MatchLab Research Group and co-ordinates the London Computer Vision initiative (www.londoncv.ai).
