Kristoffer Klement is a Researcher at Bielefeld University, affiliated with the Faculty of Sociology and the Department of Transnationalization, Development and Migration. He is involved in establishing academic collaborations with the Turkish-German University (TDU) in Istanbul under Prof. Thomas Faist. Additionally, he served as an academic coordinator for the Double Degree Program between Bielefeld and Bologna from November 2024 to May 2025.
Education: Holds a Master's in Philosophy (HU Berlin, specializing in social/political philosophy) and a Bachelor's in Philosophy and History (TU Braunschweig). Currently pursuing a Sociology PhD at Bielefeld University, focusing on system-theoretical ideology theory under Prof. Oliver Flügel-Martinsen and Prof. André Kieserling (thesis under review).
Research Interests: Sociological and political theory, critical theory (including post-Marxism), systems theory, ideology theory, ecology theory, welfare theory, and ethical/ontological discussions of social orders (democracy, capitalism, socialism, etc.).
Professional Experience: Previously a research associate at the Niklas Luhmann Archive (2017–2023) and in projects on democracy and political theory (2022–2023). Engaged in sociological theory, transnationalization, and migration studies.
