Kristine Lize

Kristine M. Lize serves as Associate Teaching Professor and Program Director for English/Language Arts (4-12) and Reading Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's School of Education. She brings K-12 teaching experience as a high school English/journalism teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coach.

Her research examines disciplinary literacy practices, assessment methods, and strategies for engaging students in critical text analysis. She has studied mother-daughter sexual communication dynamics using literary frameworks.

Education includes a BA in English (University of Wisconsin-Madison), MS in Curriculum and Instruction (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), and PhD in Language and Literacy (Cardinal Stritch University).
