Kristine Höglund is a Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University. She focuses on electoral violence, peace processes, and urban-rural dynamics of conflict, with fieldwork in Kenya, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Her current project Alliances of Anarchy: Actor Constellations and Patterns of Electoral Violence (funded by VR) explores electoral violence mechanisms.

- Gendered consequences of war
- Urbanization and conflict patterns
Publications reveal trends in electoral violence analysis, urban conflict dynamics, and peacebuilding challenges across multiple continents. She has co-authored over 20 journal articles and book chapters since 2005.
