Kristine Ask is an Associate Professor at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture, NTNU, specializing in digital cultures, game studies, and Science and Technology Studies (STS). She holds the title of Excellent Teaching Practitioner and combines qualitative research methods with theoretical frameworks like actor-network-theory and domestication theory. Her work explores technology's role in everyday life, focusing on digital inclusion of vulnerable groups and the interplay between play, work, and identity.
Research interests include digitalization, user perspectives, online communities, pop culture, and gender in technology. Current projects include LIM (migration education strategies) and GAME (gamer parents and child gaming practices). She coordinates the One-year Programme in STS and edits the Nordic Journal of Science and Technology. Her outreach includes the award-winning blog spillpikene.no.
