Douglas Thomas is an Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Southern California (USC), affiliated with both the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the USC Iovine and Young Academy. His research focuses on the intersection of technology and culture, emphasizing subcultures, education innovation, and digital media. He is renowned for co-developing the 'gamer disposition' concept, recognized by Harvard Business Review, and authoring influential books like A New Culture of Learning (2011) and Hacker Culture (2002).
